About compassion and emotional intelligence – Daniel Goleman

I am very interested about the concept of ‘intelligence’ and the way ‘The Shallows’ has made me reconsider it, so I’ve been investigating about how education should change in order to adapt to the current situation (that’s why I posted the video by Ken Robinson). I am reading about Emotional Intelligence, which apparently determines the level of people’s success better than the IQ (you can look up the marshmallow test).
Emotional Intelligence includes hope, optimism and good mood, and the way you deal with problems. One of the biggest authors about this is Daniel Goleman. In the video you will find out interesting facts about ‘compassion’, that are very related to the book, where it explains about emphatizing and the time it takes (pages 220-221).
